Copyright

The BNC contains a very large amount of copyright material, which has been generously made available to the project on the understanding that the rights of the copyright holders will not be abused. The conditions under which it is made available are summarized in the BNC Licence Agreement. You must read and agree to the terms of this Licence before you can use the corpus. The BNC XML Edition is distributed with a ten-year licence BNC XML Edition licence (also available in pdf-format). The first edition of the BNC and the BNC World Edition were distributed with a five-year licence (Licence for BNC (first edition) and BNC World).
